alessandro diga, a young talented dutch artist, delivers 3 solid techno tracks for the fifth release on the bergwacht record label. “phaedra” starts with a great bassline and goes into a warm melodic techno track with a lot of emotions, dreamy synths and it goes along with a clear hihat. the track is able to be dreamy and not cheesy at the same time. “sonora” is grounded on a rolling bassline and clear hi-hats as well, it goes over in nice effects with outstanding breaks, but it finds back to the starting rhythms. “dahlia” the hidden b-2 track transmits a deep journey with melancholic feelings.

the vanguard project is the brainchild of steve bcee & andrew villem wilson. both already being established producers this new project sees them truly going from strength to strength with every release. for the daredevil ep they deliver four soul-soaked slices of deep spaced drum & bass with rolling drums. to keep things short and simple, this is dope.

italian label greentech was inaugurated by minimono last year with a great remix by windy city legend paul johnson. the second edition features gaetano caruana aka caruan making his debut in production after many years of djing. -tempo reale- is an inventive and off kilter groove generated by clearly analogue means that pounds and grinds away out of sync at first, until it gradually begins to lock and it sounds great. there s some killer remixes by a real who s who of the scene and we can t help but mention all of them! first up fellow italians verrina & ventura deliver a typically stripped and rolling minimal house rendition. croatian hypnotic techno don petar dundov then delivers something more pounding and aggressive than we re used to, but we loved it all the same. finally the -eduardo de la calle tempo intrusion reale remix- sees the spanish master of trance induction deliver one of his best remixes in a while, complete with spooky sci-fi atmosphere, millsian bleeps and sonar blips.

sydney based swede adam stromstedt returns for the second release on lyssna, which he co-runs with partners out of stockholm and amsterdam. he s previously done stuff on bristol s banoffee pies and local imprint junk yard connections, mr. tophat s label. his offering on the a side entitled -sinbad- is a dusty and hypnotic deep house jam, that will appeal to fans of thomas melchior or more recently rene audiard. on the flip, there s label co-owner flord king, who just so happens to be the aforementioned connection in amsterdam. his contribution -dapper- is another excursion in subtle trance induction with rolling bass, immaculately programmed rhythm and woozy pads for added effect.

solkyss are back with a four track blender. on the a side are two thumping tracks from the stockholm based duo subdued camel - one rolling deep and one soaring airily. on the b-side we find solkyss regulars with two tracks that differ in character. lonely shark is an afterglow tune with a driving beat set under an experimental soundscape. from ensam comes another sun struck, funky piece with that signature cinematic dreaminess he showcased on his debut ep eee.

various artist ep collaborations 2 from unlock recordings, featuring tracks from label head solimano, bruno de vincenti, christian burkhardt, barem and federico molinari. gonzalo solimano first created the unlock recordings imprint back in 2004 as a platform to support latin american productions, and ever since then the buenos aires label has played host to the likes of guti, jorge savoretti and franco cinelli. the second instalment in the labels collaborations series, solimano now invites german producer christian burkhardt to join argentinian talents bruno de vincenti, oslo records artist federico molinari and fun records founder barem for a split release. first up is solimano & bruno de vincentis cut love nebulae which layers infectious percussion with gentle chord sequences and filtered effects. christian burkhardts doog then cuts in on a deeper and darker tip, with a low-slung bass groove and hypnotic pad sequences. up next is barems funk duck with its rolling percussion, staggered synths and a pulsating low end, before federico molinari rounds off the package with 2.014.2, blending dubby bass patterns, chopped samples and frantic synth spirals.

raam is back with a solid 4 tracker. the ep starts with ment which is a raw and jacking deep house track. a big rolling bassline, drum machine grooves and melancholy pads create that special house feeling. lipslide is a sublime and discoish house track with dubby chords and bubbly synths that slowly but surely unfolds into a serious groove that really work the floor. on the flip ment get some remix treatment from samo dj (lies, ttt, born free etc) and alexi3d. they transform the original in to gritty and percussive techno trip. the ep ends with ask which is a slow house-not-house track.

london based odd are a natural fit for infuse with their rolling hypnotic grooves featuring in the sets of the fuse crew for the past few years. their cold fusion ep kicks off with get away, the ep s vinyl only track, a deep edged shuffler, custom fit for those hazier dance-floor moments. roll the beats has a distinctly tripped out sensibility whilst making moves ups the energy with a sprightly house-edged bounce.
